Berlin Film Festival celebrated its 70th anniversary this year, and it was truly an event to remember. The prestigious festival came to an end this weekend, and the Golden Bear went to the There Is No Evil director Mohammad Rasoulof.
This poignant drama consists of four interact stories that explore “the crucial themes of moral strength and the death penalty” in Rasoulof’s home country of Iran.
The list of major winners at the festival also included Eliza Hittman, who collected Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize for Never Rarely Sometimes Always, and Hong Sang-soo who was awarded the Silver Bear for best director for her work on The Woman Who Ran.
The 70th Berlin International Film Festival took place from February 20th to March 1th, with Jeremy Irons serving as the president of the jury.
