Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan is getting a sudden cast-reshuffle in the midst of production for season three. According to Deadline, Marianne Jean-Baptiste stepped away from playing Elizabeth Wright, the Chief of Station in Amazon Prime’s series, and will be replaced by the Get Out star Betty Gabriel.

Jean-Baptiste first nabbed the role of Wright, which is set to be a major character in the third season, late last year. But reports say that the Homecoming actress decided to leave the project shortly after the start of production, citing creative differences. She managed to shot several scenes before the exit, which will now be filmed again with Gabriel.

Besides Gabriel, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan made several other additions to the cast. This includes Nina Hoss as Alena, James Cosmo as Luca, Alexej Manvelov as Alexei, and Peter Guinness as Petr.

The third season of the series still doesn’t have a release date, although the new episodes are expected to air either in late 2021 or early 2022.

The story will see the titular character, portrayed by John Krasinski, on the run from both the FBI and a dangerous organization that wants him dead. He will have to avoid being caught while also working on preventing a global conflict that threatens to have massive consequences.
