We haven’t seen Betty Gilpin take any major TV roles since GLOW wrapped up on Netflix, but that will change pretty soon. The Emmy-nominated actress is set to star and executive produce the upcoming HBO series Blood Sugar.

According to the official synopsis of this series, when the Sharks of Shark Tank laugh the delightful Margot Schultz (Gilpin) and her frozen food business off stage, little do they know they’re setting in motion one of the bloodiest and wildest rises to fame and fortune this country has ever seen.

Blood Sugar was written by Duke Merriman (Monos) and Preston Thompson (Kids in Love), and they’re joining Gilpin as executive producers. Claire Wilson (Gangs of London) is set to serve as showrunner, with Lucy Tcherniak (Angelyne) joining the project as the director.

Blood Sugar joins a packed slate of projects that Gilpin has on the way. She’ll soon appear in the Watergate-themed series Gaslit, and she has several more in the works. The GLOW star is also set to star alongside Shailene Woodley and DeWanda Wise in Three Women, in addition to joining the cast of Apple TV+ anthology series Roar.
