Beyoncé really put her heart and soul into the recent The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack, and we’ll actually get to see what that process looked like. The R&B legend will take us behind the scenes in an upcoming TV special, Making the Gift.
Like with many of her previous projects, Beyoncé didn’t feel the need to spend months promoting this special and just gave her fans what they want instead. ABC dropped the trailer for Making the Gift only a day before its premiere on September 16th.
This TV special has been described as “an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the making of her The Lion King: The Gift album”. It was just the thing that Queen Bey’s fans needed after her concert film Homecoming was snubbed at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The Lion King: The Gift was released on July 19th, and it peaked at no. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. It featured a long list of amazing artists, including Jay-Z, Childish Gambino, Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar and Blue Ivy Carter.
