Some of the biggest names in music at the moment will be heading to Africa to honor a legend.

This year marks what would have been Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday, with international advocacy agency, Global Citizen, holding a series of events to commemorate the occasion.

The late President of South Africa passed away in December 2013 at the age of 95.

The first Global Citizen Festival to be held in Africa is set to be headlined by Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

The Ape**it hitmakers — who are currently performing in Europe as part of their On the Run II tour — will be joined on stage by Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, Usher, Wizkid, Chris Martin, and several South African artists.

Accompanying them will be Oprah, Naomi Campbell, Tyler Perry, Forest Whitaker, and Bob Geldof.

Without You singer, Usher, expressed his excitement at taking part: “I’m looking forward to partnering with Global Citizen again, this time in South Africa! Celebrating Nelson Mandela’s legacy is an honor, and I can only strive to positively impact as many lives as he has.”

Tickets for the festival — which will take place in Johannesburg on the 2nd of December — are free, with hopeful attendees able to get their tickets by signing up on the Global Citizens website and emailing world leaders, signing petitions, and using social media to generate commitments in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
