And just when you thought it was too late for any surprises…

Deadline has confirmed that The Big Bang Theory has had a very last minute casting.

Lindsey Kraft has been cast in CBS’ hit show. The actress whose credits include Grace and Frankie, Dirty John and The Conners has been set as a recurring role on the sitcom’s 12th and final season. Kraft will first appear on the January 10th episode and will return for multiple episodes.

According to the outlet, Brian Thomas Smith is set to reprise his role as Penny’s ex-hubby Zack. Kraft has been set to star as Zack’s new bride Marissa. The [spoiler alert!] logline for the episode reads: “Zack and his wife want a baby, but when Zack is infertile, they ask Leonard for help.”

Big Bang Theory‘s series finale is scheduled to shoot in late April. Chuck Lorre told Deadline that the creative team does have a general idea for the series’ finale. Keeping all details under wraps he said, “These days there’s a lot of melancholy in the background at all times,” he said. “It’s been a 12-year project that has been really just a joy. It’s going to be very, very sad to let it go.”

The series’ finale of The Big Bang Theory airs in May.
