28 long years after the last installment of the movie series, the production of Bill & Ted Face the Music is now officially over. It seems the long-awaited continuation to the adventures of the duo is that much closer.

The adventures of Bill S. Preston Esquire (Alex Winter) and Ted Theodore Logan (Keanu Reeves) began in 1989 with Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and continued in 1991 with Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. The franchise follows the adventures of two high-school stoners who try to pass their history exams. The Duo became a staple of pop culture and the film have gathered a cult following.

The new film sees the two as middle-aged men, living a normal life. They get a visit from a time traveler who needs them to write a song that would save humanity. The duo turns to their family and friends for help – among them bill’s daughter Thea and Ted’s daughter Billie.

It took the movie almost 3 decades to get off the ground but the production itself seems to have gone without a hitch. Filming has started in July and now the crew is twitting happily about the upcoming movie.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is scheduled to hit theaters on August 21, 2020.
