The seventh season of the hit series Billions is coming our way this summer, and it will also serve as its final chapter. Showtime announced that the critically acclaimed drama starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis will end its run after seven seasons.

Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime, praised Billions for deftly exploring power, money, and greed in a way that made it a massive hit and defined its own genre, and promised that its final season is worth waiting for.

“This final season is packed full of the incredible, complex dialogue and character dynamics fans have come to love, and we are thrilled to partner with them on turning this hit series into a global franchise,” said McCarthy in a statement.

Billions centers on the United States Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti), who uses his influence to stop the hedge fund manager Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Lewis) from strengthening his influence and power in the cutthroat world of New York high finance.

Lewis exited the series ahead of Season 6, but he’ll be back for its swan song, along with Corey Stoll, Maggie Siff, David Costabile, Asia Kate Dillon, Dola Rashad, and Jeffrey DeMunn. The seventh season will premiere on Showtime on August 13, with new episodes airing weekly.
