Titanic star Billy Zane is joining the MacGruber television series. The show, based on a series of SNL sketches and a 2010 movie of the same name, will see Zane starring as the main villain Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth.

The role was originally set to be portrayed by Mickey Rourke, with his casting being announced back in June. However, the Golden Globe award-winning actor left the project before the start of the filming due to unknown reasons.

Besides Zane, MacGruber ade several more additions including Young Rock star Joseph Lee Anderson and veteran TV actor Timothy V. Murphy. They will join the core cast consisting out of Will Forte (MacGruber), Kristen Wiig (Vicki St. Elmo), and Ryan Phillippe (Dixon Piper).

MacGruber, starring Forte as the titular character, originally began in 2007 as Saturday Night Live recurring sketch that parodied the iconic action-adventure television series MacGyver. The sketches were highly popular among the SNL audience, prompting the release of a full feature in 2010. The movie received mixed reviews from the critics and earned $9.3 million in the box office compared to a $10 million budget.

Despite the movie being viewed as a failure, streaming service Peacock still decided to pick it up for eight-episode series that will see most of the original cast returning to reprise their roles. The series will see MacGruber getting released after spending 10 years in prison and embarking on a mission to stop a mysterious villain who plans to destroy the world.
