After being in development for over a decade, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam got its first look at DC FanDome.

Johnson plays the DC Comics anti-hero and sworn nemesis of Shazam! In the clip, Johnson’s superhero appears to a group of cave dwellers with machine guns who fire on him, but he’s bulletproof.

In addition to Johnson’s character Black Adam, the film features other members of the Justice Society including Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate.

“This film, this universe has been a gigantic passion project of mine for a very long time,” said Johnson before introducing the first look at the film. “The film has without question some of the biggest action sequences I have ever been a part of.”

Johnson started circling the role around 2007 and signed on by 2014 to play Black Adam in a Shazam! movie, but the studio decided to do spin off the character into his own franchise with Zachary Levi starring in Shazam!.

Black Adams will be released on July 29, 2022. Check out the first look below.
