“Black-ish” Gets Another Season – and a Prequel

Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Daveed Diggs in "Black-ish"

Our TV screens are still going to be blackish.

ABC has confirmed that Black-ish will be returning to our screens for a sixth season.

The comedy from Kenya Barris follows the African-American Johnson family and their lives in a predominately white neighborhood.

Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross head the household which includes Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, and Marsai Martin.

The renewal does not come as a surprise as Black-ish averaged 3.33 million viewers per episode during season 5.

The Johnsons have also spread to other shows, with Shahidi’s leading Grown-ish which focuses on her character’s life at college, and now Mixed-ish.

The latter will serve as a prequel to Black-ish and follow a young version of Ross’s character as her parents move to the sunburns from a hippie community.

Sounds good-ish.
