Wakanda continues to wow!

It’s been 3 weeks since Marvel’s Black Panther hit screens, and it has already achieved icon status.

The story of African prince, T’Challa (Black Panther himself), who returns to his home nation following the death of his father and is forced to defend his people and avoid a global war when an enemy reappears, stars Chadwick Boseman in the titular role, Michael B. Jordan, Oscar-winner Lupita N’yongo, and Oscar-nominee David Kaluuya.

The film (which has a super fresh 97% on Rotten Tomato!) has been praised by critics who have applauded its depiction of diversity and adored by audiences who have flocked in their droves.

As of last week, Black Panther has earned $501.1-million at the US box office, and $396.6-million overseas, bringing its total revenue to $897.7-million worldwide. The impressive figures have allowed the film to claim a spot on the list of the US’s highest-grossing films in 10th position, and become the 50th highest-grossing film in the world.

At this rate, Black Panther is predicted to become Marvel’s most successful film in its 10-year history. That’s definitely put Wakanda on the map.
