Everything’s gonna be alright.

Just months before we return to Wakanda, Marvel has given us a glimpse of what to expect.

A lot has changed in the African country since 2018’s Black Panther, mostly due to circumstances off-screen. Chadwick Boseman was due to reprise his role as the titular superhero in the forthcoming sequel, but he sadly passed away in 2020 from colon cancer. The star of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was diagnosed in 2016, but chose to keep his condition private. His death came as a surprise to many of his co-stars.

Boseman’s death was written into the Black Panther story as Marvel felt his legacy as T’Challa should be honored. The teaser for the sequel, Wakanda Forever, pays tribute to the late king.

Set to a haunting rendition of “Alright” by Kendrick Lamar, the two-minute clip features many characters struggling with the loss including T’Challa’s sister Shuri and their mother Ramonda who is now Queen.

“I am the queen of the most powerful nation in the world, and my entire family is gone. Have I not given everything?” she tearfully exclaims.

How they and the rest of Wakanda copes, as well as who will be the next Black Panthe, will be revealed on November 11.
