Jisoo is the last member of Blackpink to make her solo debut, but making us wait proved to be the right strategy. Her debut solo single “Flower” made quite a splash and set several major records along the way.

Jisoo’s first solo single is all about overcoming a toxic relationship and “leaving behind nothing but the scent of flowers.” YouTube is yet to officially release viewership numbers for its music video, but it reportedly crossed over 40 million views in just 24 hours. This marks the biggest 24-hour debut for a K-pop music video released so far this year.

“Flower” was released as the lead single from her debut single album Me, which allowed her to show a new and diverse side of herself to loyal Blackpink fans.

“This is a single of ‘me’ myself, created after countless considerations to look inside and express myself…I feel myself growing and becoming stronger as I go through the process of discovering new charms that I didn’t even know existed,” said Jisoo in a statement.

Me also set several major records ahead of its release on March 31, making Jisoo the first K-pop female solo artist to become a million-seller after exceeding 1.24 million pre-orders in three weeks.
