“Blindspot” Renewed For Fifth & Final Season

Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander in Blindspot

Blindspot has been renewed for one more season.

NBC has picked up Blindspot for a fifth and final season. While the episode count has yet to be confirmed, according to sources, the count will be lower than previous seasons.

The series follows a mysterious tattooed woman (Jaimie Alexander) who is found naked inside a travel bag in Times Square by the FBI, with no memory of her own past or identity.

The mystery drama also stars Sullivan Stapleton, Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson and Ennis Esmer.

The show was a big breakout hit, but its ratings declined in Season 2 and then again at the start of Season 3. According to Variety, the fourth season averaged 2.8 million total live viewers and a 0.48 in the 18-49 demographic.

Series creator Martin Gero shared a message of thanks on Instagram writing, “We’re in this together. All of us.” In 2014 I sketched out a five season plan for the show. I am beyond grateful that we will be able to properly finish telling this giant, sprawling story. Thank you to our amazing partners at @nbc, the incredible team at @warnerbrostv, our cast, our writers, our crew and most importantly YOU. Thank you. We do this for the fans. More coming soon. #100episodes #Blindspot.”
