Weāre yet to see the DC Comics superhero Blue Beetle on the big screen and his introduction is going to be epic! The first trailer for Blue Beetle is here and it will usher in a new era for the DC Extended Universe later this summer.
According to DCās official synopsis, Blue Beetle will center on a recent college grad Jaime Reyes, who returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. While searching for his purpose, he unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology, which chooses him as its symbiotic host.
Reyes ends up gaining a suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, becoming the superhero known as Blue Beetle. This origin story will see Jaime Reyes learning how to take control of his newfound powers that will forever change his destiny.
Blue Beetle will be led by Xolo MaridueƱa, the breakout star of Cobra Kai. Adriana Barraza, DamiĆ”n AlcĆ”zar, Elpidia Carrillo, Bruna Marquezine, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez also star. Blue Beetle was directed by Angel Manuel Soto, and itās expected to hit the theatres on August 18.
