“Bond 25” Receives a Postponement and New Screenwriter

Daniel Craig as Bond in "Skyfall"

If you were hoping that James Bond would be your valentine next year, we have some disappointing news.

The studio behind the suave British spy has announced that the next instalment in the Bond saga will be postponed by two months.

Bond 25 has been plagued almost since it was announced in 2016.

First, speculation became rife over whether Daniel Craig would actually reprise his role as 007. After playing the MI6 agent since 2006, the 50-year-old dropped various hints about moving on, with it since being confirmed that this will be his last Bond film.

The entire project was then thrown into jeopardy last August when Danny Boyle stepped down as director. While exact details were not revealed, the official reason behind the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s departure was listed as “creative differences.”

It has now been reported that The Bourne Ultimatum screenwriter Scott Z. Burns is coming aboard to overhaul the current screenplay by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

Bond 25 has also been delayed from February 14, 2020 to April 7, 2020.
