Bono Introduces Star-Studded Cover of “Beautiful Day”

Bono introduced an all-star cover of U2’s “Beautiful Day” during YouTube’s “Dear Class of 2020” special.

Prior to the airing of the song, Bono made a short speech and described the U.S. as “a dream that belongs to the whole world.”

The cover of “Beautiful Day” was produced by Billie Eilish’s brother Finneas and features vocals from the likes of Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Camila Cabello, Ty Dolla $ign, Cynthia Erivo, Khalid, Leon Bridges, Noah Cyrus, and Ben Platt.

YouTube’s Dear Class of 2020 special, a virtual commencement event, aired on Saturday. The multi-hour event featured celebrity commencement speakers, performances, and special guests. The special included appearances by Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, BTS, Lizzo, Justin Timberlake, and dozens more.

According to the official logline, “while many of the traditional graduation ceremonies across the world have been cancelled this year, the class of 2020 is not missing their chance to celebrate.”
