Aladdin’s magic carpet soars to new heights at the box office.

The live-action remake of the Disney classic has had a very good Memorial Day opening weekend with an estimated $107.7 million four-day debut from 4,476 North American theaters. According to Variety, Aladdin marks the sixth-highest Memorial Day weekend debut ever, behind 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, which hauled $110.5 million.

According to multiple outlets, the live-action reboot of 1992’s Aladdin pulled an impressive $7 million on Thursday and $31 million and Friday.

“Fans are absolutely loving the materials they’re seeing for Aladdin, from Will Smith’s performance to the authentic look and feel of the movie, to the soundtrack and its many songs. Like other Disney movies of recent note, there is that element of older ticket buyers sharing their excitement, to be able to share one of their childhood memories on the big screen with their kids and this younger generation.”

The feature stars Will Smith as Genie and Mena Massoud as the titular character. Naomi Scott stars as Jasmine, along with Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, and Billy Magnussen. Guy Ritchie directed from a script he co-wrote alongside John August.
