“Shallow” might sound a little different when it is sung at the Academy Awards later this month.

The lead song from A Star Is Born has been nominated for Best Original Song and is likely to walk away with the coveted award.

Part of the reason the song is so iconic is due to the film’s stars, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, who will perform the track live on the 24th of February.

Bradley, who also directed the Oscar-nominated film, altered his voice for the role of Jackson Maine, the country singer with the southern drawl.

So, will Jackson be singing at the Oscars this year? Nope, just Bradley.

Following an impromptu performance of Shallow with Gaga at her Enigma residency in Las Vegas, Bradley says he was inspired to perform on the Oscars telecast in his own singing voice.

“He’s gone. I’m not gonna try to get him back,” Bradley said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “But it will be me singing.”

Either way, he’ll likely sound great!
