The Mummy trilogy was a huge success between 1999 and 2008 but the 2017 attempt of a reboot with Tom Cruise as the leading actor was poorly received. Now, the star of the original trilogy, Brendan Fraser, says he is up for another movie in the series.

Appearing at FAN EXPO Canada, Fraser was asked whether there will be another Mummy movie in the future. He answered, “for me? Do you want one?” When the crowd cheered, he added, “did you hear that, Universal?”.

The actor then expressed feigned surprise when told about the failure of Universal’s reboot attempt (“Oh, they did?”) and confirmed enthusiastically that he will “absolutely” sign on for a reboot if approached.

“Just gotta say, I know how hard it is to make that movie,” Fraser added. “I tried to do it three times, and the essential ingredient is fun. You gotta remember to have fun. So if there’s a fun way to approach it again, I’m all in,” he said.

In regards to his co-star from the first two films Rachel Weisz, Fraser had nothing but praise. “Working with Rachel, it’s Rachel f’in Weisz. She’s wonderful, you know if you’re really impressed with talent and good humor. A belly laugh that could break a window.”
