Dean Israelite is currently plotting a coming-of-age film Little Wing for Paramount+, and its cast looks pretty amazing. Brian Cox, Kelly Reilly, Brooklynn Prince, and Che Tafari will play lead roles in this heartwarming tale set in the world of pigeon racing.

Little Wing has been a passion project for Israelite ever since he read Susan Orlean’s The New Yorker article that inspired it. It centers on a 13-year-old girl Kaitlyn (Brooklynn Prince), who is drawn into the world of pigeon racing while reeling from her parent’s divorce.

In the face of the pending loss of her home, Kaitlyn becomes obsessed with solving her family’s financial woes by stealing a valuable bird, but her plans go sideways after she forms a special bond with the owner who cultivates her love of the sport.

In addition to Prince, the breakout star of The Florida Project, who recently appeared in Cocaine Bear, Little Wing will also star Brian Cox (Succession) as the pigeon racer Jaan, Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone) as Kaitlyn’s mom Maddie, and Che Tafari (Me Time) as her classmate and friend Adam.

The Oscar nominee John Gatins (Flight) wrote the script for this project, and he’ll produce it alongside Naomi Despres, while Israelite, Cox, Karen Rosenfelt, Donald De Line, Susan Orlean, Don Dunn, and Liz Brandenburg serve as executive producers.
