Queen guitarist Brian May has shared an update on his rumored collaboration with Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi.

May and Iommi have been friends for decades. The pair have jammed together on several occasions and supposedly, they have a whole collection of riffs waiting to be used.

In a recent interview with Guitar World, May was asked about the chances of fans hearing anything that May and Iommi have worked on together.

“I think there is a chance,” May replied. “We do more talking than anything else, but we do a lot of talking. [Iommi] is really my dearest friend in the business and has been for so many years.

“I could write books about Tony because he’s just the most [pauses]… I don’t even know how to put it into words. You know, he’s a luminous human being is Tony, with a wonderful, kind nature and an incredibly baffling sense of humor.”

He added: “And, of course, he is the father of heavy metal. He did that. He made that happen. And it’s from his fingers and his mind.”

If May and Iommi collaborate on an album, it may just blow our minds. Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to hear snippets of what the pair have been working on in the future.
