Britney Spears has announced that she is returning to Las Vegas for an all-new residency.
The pop icon announced the news via a live stream which was broadcast live on Ellen DeGeneres’ YouTube channel. The residency will be located at Park MGM’s Park Theatre. The new residency is titled: Britney: Domination.
The big reveal was highly theatrical. The live stream showed panoramic shots of the Las Vegas Strip, filled with excited fans. Spears ascended from below the stage at the MGM Park Theatre. A video behind her showcased some of her most iconic Britney moments. She appeared only for a moment, waved to fans then rode off in a waiting car.
“I am so happy to be returning to my second home – Las Vegas!” Spears said in a statement. “I’m so excited for my fans to see it! It’s going to be so much fun being back on stage and I can’t wait to perform at Park Theatre.”
In 2013, Britney launched her ‘Piece of Me’ residency at Planet Hollywood. The popular demand meant the original plan of a 50 date run multiplied by 5. She ended up performing a whopping 250 shows and her residency ended at the very end of 2017.
Britney: Domination will commence February 2019 and will run until August. Tickets go on sale October 26.
