Britney Spears is currently taking a hiatus from music to focus on her family, but that’s not stopping her from achieving new career milestones. She’s the latest superstar to get a stage musical based on her biggest hits – and its plot sounds like a feminist daydream.
Once Upon A One More Time will follow our favorite fairy tale princesses, including Cinderella and Snow White, who are members of the same book club. Their lives drastically change after a rogue fairy godmother replaces their books with Betty Friedan’s classic The Feminine Mystique.
We can’t wait to see how Britney’s music fits in into all of this, and she’s just as excited as the rest of us. Pop princess described this musical as a dream come true, especially because it’s set in such a magical world filled with characters that she grew up on.
The show will run from October 29 through December 1 at the James M. Nederlander theater in Chicago. Experts believe it will end up replacing Michael Jackson jukebox musical Don’t Stop Til’ You Get Enough on Broadway, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.
