BTS’ “Butter” has returned to No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 songs chart from No. 7, making it the eighth week on top and tying for the chart’s longest rule of 2021 with Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License”.

The song replaces the group’s “Permission to Dance”, which launched at No. 1 on the Hot 100 last week and succeeded “Butter” which spent the past seven weeks at No. 1. “Permission to Dance” has fallen to No. 7.

BTS is the first act to displace itself at No. 1 with a new leader. Olivia Rogriogo’s “Good 4 U” holds the No. 2 spot, Dua Lipa’s “Levitating”, featuring DaBaby is at No. 3, The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” is at No. 4, and Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA is at No. 5.

Rounding out the top 10 are Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits”, BTS’ “Permission to Dance,” Lil Nas X’s “Montero”, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Deja Vu”, and The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Save Your Tears”.
