It’s only been a few weeks since members of BTS announced they’re taking a break to focus on their solo careers, but that’s not stopping their studio Hybe from plotting new projects. They entered a multi-year deal with Disney, that will include several projects featuring the chart-topping K-pop group.
Two of the titles included in this deal are the concert film BTS: Permission To Dance On Stage – LA, which was filmed at the Sofi stadium back in November, and the docuseries BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, featuring footage filmed over the past nine years.
V of BTS is also expected to star in In The Soop: Friendcation, a travel reality series about a group of five friends embarking on a surprise trip together. Its cast will also include Itaewon Class’ Seo-jun Park, Parasite star Woo-shik Choi, singer and actor Hyung-sik Park, and rapper Peakboy.
Hybe signed a deal with The Walt Disney Asia Pacific and their head of content Jessica Kam-Engle said they’re thrilled to be collaborating with this company to showcase their original content created with powerful artist IP.
“This collaboration represents our creative ambition – to work with iconic content creators and top stars in Asia Pacific so their talent can be enjoyed by mainstream audiences in multiple ways,” said Kam-Engle in a statement.
