If we had to pick a single artist that’s been absolutely dominating the Billboard Hot 100 chart this year, we’d have to go with BTS. Their Coldplay collaboration “My Universe” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, becoming their third single this year to do so.

“My Universe” was released on September 24th, as the second single from Coldplay’s upcoming album Music of the Spheres. It easily hit no. 1 on the Hot 100 with 11.5 million U.S. streams, 5.5 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 127,000 downloads during its first week on the chart.

This is BTS’s sixth and Coldplay’s second single to reach no. 1 in the U.S., but that’s not the only thing that makes its chart triumph amazing. “My Universe” is also the first single by two co-billed lead groups to top the Hot 100 and the first song by a British group to ever debut at no. 1 in the U.S.

In addition to being a huge success for Coldplay, “My Universe” cemented BTS’s domination on the Billboard Hot 100 this year. This is their third single to reach no. 1 position, following the success of their summer smash hits “Butter” and “Permission to Dance”.
