BTS already gave us one of the biggest hits of the summer with “Butter”, and they’re back at it again! Their latest single “Permission to Dance” took the world by storm after its release, and easily soared to the no. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following its release on July 9th, “Permission to Dance” drew 15.9 million streams, 1.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 140,100 downloads in the U.S. during its first week on the chart. It replaced the K-pop band’s smash hit “Butter” at no. 1, after seven weeks on top.

“Permission to Dance” is BTS’s fifth no. 1 single. They also reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with, “Dynamite”, “Life Goes On”, “Butter”, and the remix of “Savage Love” with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo.

When it comes to the rest of this week’s chart, Olivia Rodrigo’s former chart-topper “Good 4 U” holds at no. 2. The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber debuted at no. 3 with their collaboration “Stay”, while Dua Lipa and DaBaby took the no. 4 spot with “Levitating”.
