Members of BTS are currently busy working on their solo music, and Jimin made quite a splash with his debut solo album. His latest single “Like Crazy” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making him the first South Korean solo artist to achieve this feat.

“Like Crazy” was released as the second single from Jimin’s debut solo studio album FACE, and it accompanied its release on March 24. Jimin shared five different versions of this song, starting with Korean and English versions, followed by “Deep House” and “UK Garage” mixes and an instrumental version, significantly driving its sales.

“Like Crazy” eventually debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 with 254,000 song downloads and CD singles combined, 10 million streams, and 64,000 radio airplay audience impressions during its first week on the chart. Due to its impressive streaming numbers, “Like Crazy” also debuted at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart.

Jiimin’s Billboard Hot 100 success is quite historic, and he’s the first South Korean solo artist to hit No. 1 on this chart, surpassing Psy, whose viral hit “Gangnam Style” peaked at No. 2. In addition to topping this chart with “Like Crazy”, Jimin also debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart with FACE, which is currently the highest-charting album by a K-pop solo artist in Billboard chart history.
