The 20th season of reality singing competition The Voice wrapped up on Tuesday, with Philadelphia-native Cam Anthony being crowned as the winner.  The outcome wasn’t a surprising one as Anthony was considered the favorite for the better part of the show’s run.

Country singer Kenzie Wheeler finished in second, leaving behind Jordan Matthew Young, Victor Solomon, and Rachel Mac.

In the finale, Anthony performed Bon Jovi’s hit “Wanted Dead or Alive” and the Academy Award-nominated track “Stand Up” from the 2019 movie Harriet. The 19-year-old singer was also joined on stage by his coach Blake Shelton for a duet rendition of “She Drives Me Crazy,” a song from British rockers Fine Young Cannibals.

Anthony is the eighth winner of The Voice that was coached by Shelton. This is by far the most in the show’s history, with the next on the list being Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson with three coaching wins each.

“You being on this show and giving us the chance to be a part of your journey has changed the show forever and we’ve been needing that,” said Shelton of Anthony after the finale.

Anthony responded by thanking Shelton for allowing him to “explore my artistry” and “have as much fun with it as possible.”

The Voice season 21 has already been announced and is expected to air at some point in the fall. Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson will all return while Nick Jonas previously announced his departure from the show after serving as a coach for three seasons. Jonas will be replaced by Ariana Grande.
