When asked about the “Charlie’s Angels” reuniting, Cameron Diaz told Entertainment Weekly in an interview that she has finished her career as an actress. She said:

“Maybe I should, you know, I mean, I’m down. I’m literally doing nothing. I’m semi-retired, too, and I am actually retired, so I would love to see you ladies.”

Diaz’s last film role was in the 2014 remake of Annie. Earlier this month, a rumor went around that the actress had retired when Selma Blair said in an interview that “Cameron’s retired from acting” so she cannot make a Sweetest Thing sequel. After the rumor went viral she clarified on Twitter saying:

“Cameron Diaz is NOT retiring from ANYTHING. And for more breaking news: I am NOW retiring from being Cameron Diaz’s spokesperson.”

Now that Diaz has come out as retired, it looks like Blair was right after all. The actress rose to stardom in 24 years ago through her role in The Mask. Since then, she has starred in a vast array of popular and acclaimed movies including but not limited to The Sweetest ThingA Life Less Ordinary, Shrek, There’ Something About Mary and My Best Friend’s Wedding.

Her career as an actress has been diverse and prosperous and we wish her luck in her retirement.
