If you still doubt the concept of “love at first sight”, Cameron Diaz might change your mind.
The Charlie’s Angels actress has been out of the public eye for the last few years as she has taken on the role of wife and mother. Diaz has been married to Good Charlotte guitarist, Benji Madden, since 2015 after having met 10 months earlier.
Describing the encounter to fellow actress Anna Faris, it’s easy to see why the Golden Globe nominee knew she was making the right choice.
“I saw him walking towards me and I was like, ‘He’s hot, I haven’t seen him before,’” she recalled. “But then when I saw him, like who he was, that’s what made me really be like, ‘Ohhh, you. You, you’re special. You’re the guy. You’re the hidden gem in my life.’”
Diaz and Madden were introduced by her friend Nicole Richie who is married to the musician’s brother and fellow Good Charlotte member, Joel. Although the brothers are identical twins, the actress says she never got them confused.
“Even though they’re twins, they’re very, very different obviously.”
Cameron and Benji became parents to a daughter, Raddix, in December 2019.
