Camila Cabello always knows how to throw a good live show and one of her upcoming performances will see her opening one of the biggest sports events of the year. She’s set to headline the 2022 UEFA Champions League final opening ceremony.
UEFA is joining forces with Pepsi to bring the opening ceremony to life, and the company’s marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein said that Cabello’s performance will be the ultimate cross-pollination of sport and music that fans love to watch.
“We know that Camila Cabello is one of the world’s most popular artists and she will help us to build on our fans’ excitement for the opening ceremony performance with a show football fans will never forget,” said Epstein in a press release.
Cabello echoed his statement and promised a show that will bring together the spirit of her Latin heritage and a feeling of togetherness for sports and music fans all over the world. Her performance is expected to be carnival-themed and includes high-energy choreography, plenty of costumes, and a medley of her biggest hits.
Cabello will take the stage at Stade de France in Paris on May 28 and her performance will serve as the opening for the UEFA Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid.
