I Know What You Did Last Summer is one of the defining slashers of the ’90s, and its reboot is just around the corner. This high-profile project rounded out an impressive cast, which includes Camila Mendes, Madelyn Cline, and Jonah Hauer-King.
Led by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr, Last Summer is remembered as one of the films that revitalized the slasher genre during the 90s. It centered on a group of young friends, who are hunted by their past after a mysterious villain they hit with a car comes back seeking revenge.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) is directing the reboot and she co-wrote the script with Sam Lansky. She’s leaving the door open for the original cast members to make a cameo, but nothing has officially been confirmed.
The new version of I Know What You Did Last Summer will be pretty star-studded even without the original stars reprising their roles. Camila Mendes (Riverdale) and Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks) are leading the cast, alongside Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), and Tyriq Withers (Tell Me Lies).
I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot already has a release date, and it’s coming to theatres on July 18, 2025.
