By this point in time, we’re pretty used to Cardi B breaking records, but her latest achievement will truly go down in hip-hop history. The rapper recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 with her latest single “Up”, becoming the first female rapper with more than one solo song atop the chart.

“Up” is Cardi B’s fifth no. 1 single in the U.S., and her second solo song to reach the coveted spot on the Billboard Hot 100. “Bodak Yellow” was her first single to soar to the top, and she later repeated that success with “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin, the Maroon 5 collaboration “Girls Like You”, and the viral hit “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion.

“Up” was originally released on February 5th, but Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” blocked it from reaching the top. That changed after the recent Grammy ceremony, where Cardi B performed an epic medley that included both “Up” and “WAP”.

Both songs are expected to be featured on the singer’s upcoming second studio album, the follow-up to her Grammy-winning debut Invasion of Privacy. This record still doesn’t have an official title or release date, but Cardi B recently said she’s in “military studio album mode”, so we’re expecting she’ll share some exciting news soon.
