Carl Lumbly to Join “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”

As reported by Deadline, Carl Lumbly, who played Martian Manhunter in DC’s Supergirl (a part that he also voiced in the Justice League animated series) is joining the cast of Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier set to air on Disney+.

In the past, Lumbly starred in M.A.N.T.I.S, a 1990s cult TV series created by Sam Raimi and Sam Hamm. He also appeared in Doctor Sleep as Dick Halloran, This Is Us, The Chi, Altered Carbon, Alias, and Cagney & Lacey. It is still unknown what his role on Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be.

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will reprise their MCU roles in the new series. Emily VanCamp will play Sharon Carter, Daniel Brühl will play Helmut Zemo, and Wyatt Russel will play John Walker. Adepero Oduye, Desmond Chiam, Miki Ishikawa, and Noah Mills round up the cast but it is still unknown which parts. Malcolm Spellman (Empire) is credited as the creator of the series and it will be directed by Kari Skogland (The Handmaid’s Tale).

The Falcon and the Winter Soldiers is set to come out in August 2020.
