Everybody wants to go to the Jellicle Ball.

Jennifer Hudson, Sir Ian McKellan, James Corden, and Taylor Swift best begin sharpening their claws as they have signed on to star in a film version of Cats.

Based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliotthe Andrew Lloyd Webber musical tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as “the Jellicle choice” and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back in the form of one of their 9 lives.

Tom Hooper who directed Les Misérables has signed on to helm the project which is being written by Lee Hall who penned the screenplay for Billy Elliot and is set to begin filming in November.

The Dreamgirls Oscar winner will once again put her golden pipes to good use as she takes on the role of Grizabella, while Ian and James are both Tony Award winners and Delicate singer, Taylor, has numerous Grammys under her tail.

Sounds like the making of a beautiful memory.
