CBS Picks Up “Tommy” Starring Edie Falco

Edie Falco has been tapped as the lead in a new cop drama picked up by CBS. 

The Sopranos alum will portray a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female Chief of Police for Los Angeles.

Here is the official logline: “When a former high-ranking NYPD officer becomes the first female chief of police for Los Angeles, she uses her unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to navigate the social, political, and national security issues that converge with enforcing the law.”

The series hails from Homicide creator Paul Attanasio, Amblin Television and CBS TV Studios. Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television will executive produce. Kate Dennis directed and executive produced the pilot. 

Tommy will also star Michael Chernus, Adelaide Clemens, David Fierro, Russell G. Jones, Olivia Lucy Phillip, and Joseph Lyle Taylor.
