There’s a saying that there are only two kinds of people in the world — those who are Irish, and those who wish they were.

And on St. Patrick’s Day, even Hollywood’s finest wish they were.

The 17th of March is traditionally observed as the death-day of Ireland’s foremost patron saint, but has, in later years, been commemorated by wearing green, getting drunk, and hopefully obtaining some extra luck.

Those embracing tradition included Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. (who has Irish stock on his father’s side):

Country musician, Tim McGraw, played “Send Me Back Saturday” by posting a recording of his recent show in Dublin:

Talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres — never one to miss out on a reason to dance — tweeted an Irish jig:

Singer, Dolly Parton, was optimistic about the weather:

Actress, Reese Witherspoon, rocked a shamrock frock:

Grammy nominee, Josh Groban, had a “threat” for his neighbors that we think they might actually enjoy…

And Galway Girl singer, Ed Sheeran, made sure that we knew he had downed a Guinness for St. Paddy (and his brother):

Good job, everyone! Slainte!
