Charli XCX is currently plotting her next album, and she is finally ready to give us the taste of things to come. Her new track “Good Ones” will serve as the lead single on this record and it comes with a twisted and dramatic music video.

According to the singer, “Good Ones” explores her inability to commit to healthy relationships because she’s constantly drawn back to the dysfunctional and toxic ones. The music video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis and it perfectly encapsulates the message that she tried to convey.

“[The video] sees me dramatically mourning the untimely loss of my partner as I battle with the realization that once again I’ve abandoned the goodness in my life, in favor of the sinister, with a visual aesthetic that marks a new era of me: Charli XCX,” said the singer in the official statement.

“Good Ones” will be featured on her upcoming fifth studio album, which serves as the follow-up to How I’m Feeling Now, which came out last year. It’s her first solo single of 2021, but she gave us several collaborations this year, including “Out Out” featuring Joel Corry, Jax Jones, and Saweetie.
