Charlie Day never had any trouble making us laugh, and he’s getting ready to do it again! It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star landed a lead role in Dark Horse Entertainment’s upcoming dark comedy Kill Me, from writer/director Peter Warren.

Kill Me centers on an ordinary man Jimmy, whose life turns upside down when he wakes up in a bathtub after what seems like an attempted suicide. He’s trying to convince his friends and family that he didn’t try to kill himself and joins forces with Margot, the 911 operator who took his call, to try and solve the mystery of what really happened.

Dark Horse founder Mike Richardson, said that Peter Warren’s script impressed them with its honest portrayal of depression and mental health, while also delivering a great mystery with plenty of humor.

“Charlie Day, with his skill at balancing the fragility of the human experience with incredible comedic energy, is the perfect person to anchor this ‘two-hander.’ We couldn’t be more excited about working on this film with our friends at XYZ,” said Richardson in a statement.

In addition to starring in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Day voiced Luigi in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and led the satirical comedy Fool’s Paradise earlier this year.
