Fast & Furious Justin Lin director is taking a brief break from this franchise, and his next project sounds pretty promising. Charlize Theron and Daniel Craig are circling key roles in Lin’s heist thriller Two For the Money, which will be distributed by Apple Original Films.

Based on the original idea by Lin and his fellow Fast X co-writer Dan Mazeau, Two For the Money will center on two career thieves (Theron and Craig) whose relationship spans the course of three big jobs. It’s Lin’s first film outside the Fast & Furious franchise since Star Trek Beyond in 2016.

Lin’s Perfect Storm Entertainment, Theron’s Denver & Delilah banner, and Jeff Kirschebaum and Joe Roth’s RK Films developed the project and eventually sold it to Apple Original Films after an intense bidding war.

The Oscar winner Theron previously collaborated with Lin on several films in the Fast & Furious series, most recently Fast X, which came out earlier this year. She’ll next appear in the sequel of her acclaimed Netflix superhero film The Old Guard.

After ending his run as James Bon in No Time To Die, Daniel Craig returned as Benoit Blanc in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. He’ll soon play the lead role in Luca Guadagnino’s historical drama Queer, based on William S. Burroughs’s novel of the same name.
