Charlize Theron has a pretty extensive awards collection, which includes an Oscar and a Golden Globe, and she’s getting ready to add the American Cinematheque Award to the mix.
This special honor recognizes extraordinary filmmakers in the entertainment industry, who are fully engaged in their work and committed to making a significant contribution to the art of the motion picture.
Theron is the 33rd recipient of this award, and American Cinematheque chairman Rick Nicita said he’s extremely pleased to honor her at this year’s ceremony.
“Charlize Theron is making a significant contribution to the art of motion pictures while breaking through outmoded limitations on what an actress and producer can do. It is obvious from her career that her immense talent cannot be categorized or confined,” said Nicita in a statement.
Theron recently appeared in critically acclaimed romantic comedy Long Shot, which provided her with another opportunity to show off her incredible range. She’s set to voice Morticia Addams in the animated remake of The Addams Family and play Megyn Kelly in Fair and Balanced later this year.
