Charmed Reboot Could Bring Back Members of Original Cast

Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan in "Charmed"

Charmed boss wants to bring back the original trio in the reboot.

Ten years after the original series ended, The Charmed reboot is on its way and while some people can’t wait, others are skeptical. Alyssa Milano, who played the youngest sister Pheobe in the original series, is one person who has her doubts and claimed that she wishes she had been involved in the reboot.

It could be that she gets her wish, however, as Charmed boss Jennie Snyder Urman has admitted during an interview with Digital Spy that she would love to see the original cast appear in the reboot.

“It would be great, I’d love it, so we’ll see,” she said. “You have to dig in and let these characters… let the audience learn who they are and peel away layers and… hopefully you want the audience to fall in love with these three women, but that would be a dream. I would love it.”

Urman has also explained that she would like to keep the connection to the original series in her reboot. One of the key elements she wants to maintain is the relatability factor.

“I think understanding that is really what it’s about: women kicking ass, changing the world and fighting evil,” she added. “It’s empowering, it’s wish fulfillment and it’s relatable – sisters are relatable – so I think that was the most important thing.

“We loved the original, so we took so many pieces from it, in terms of the mythology, in terms of the structure and the Whitelighters and different villains and all of the beautiful groundwork that they’ve laid. We’ve tried to then look at what that means in our world today, 10 years later.”
