Adaptations of Stephen King’s novels are never going out of style, and The Life of Chuck is the next one in line. The ensemble of this horror is getting more amazing by the day, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, and Jacob Tremblay are the latest cast members to join it.

The Life of Chuck was published as one of the stories from King’s collection If It Bleeds, and it already produced one successful adaptation: Mr. Harrigan’s Phone. It’s now time for The Life of Chuck to get the Hollywood treatment, with Mike Flanagan (Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep) set to write and direct it.

This genre-bending story consisted of three interconnected acts, chronicling the life of an ordinary man Charles Krantz. The story kicked off with his death from a brain tumor at 39, and it was told in reverse, ending with his childhood in a house believed to be haunted.

When this project was initially announced, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill were set to lead it, and they’ll now be joined by Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Jacob Tremblay (Room).

The Life of Chuck started filming under an interim agreement in Alabama earlier this month, and its release date is yet to be announced.
