Chloe x Halle dropped their sophomore album this week and they teased its release with an epic music video for their single “Forgive Me”. The video isn’t exactly plot-driven and simply shows them dancing around in several darkly lit settings.
“Forgive Me” is the latest single from Chloe x Halle’s new album Ungodly Hour, which came out on June 12th. It was preceded by singles “Catch Up” and “Do It.” The second reached the top ten on Billboard’s R&B Songs chart, becoming the duo’s most successful single to date.
Chloe described “Forgive Me”, saying it’s about “taking your power back and not feeling like your self-worth is in the trash” and reveled she wrote it after the downfall of a relationship that didn’t end “in the most honest light.”
Chloe x Halle discussed Ungodly Hour with CBSN and described “Forgive Me” as the defining song of the entire album because it perfectly sums up the message they’re trying to send.
“We’re being unapologetically ourselves, and if anyone can’t accept that, we hope they can forgive us. Because we’re still going to live our best lives and continue being the best version of ourselves, while making mistakes along the way,” explained Chloe.
