Chris Evans spent a full decade embodying one of our favorite superheroes, but would he be open to doing it again? He discussed the possibility of returning as Captain America in a recent interview and revealed he would “never say never” to picking up the shield again.

Evans’ journey in the MCU kicked off with Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011, and he went on to play Steve Rogers aka Captain America in a series of Marvel movies, culminating with his final appearance in Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

Evans pondered his future in the MCU in a recent interview with GQ and revealed if he’d ever consider coming back for another ride.

“I’ll never say never, just because it was such a wonderful experience… Sometimes I can’t believe it even happened. And I wouldn’t want the black eye if it felt like a cash grab or if it didn’t live up to expectations or if it just felt like it wasn’t connected to that original thing,” explained Evans.

Evans has been pretty busy since leaving Captain America behind. We’ve seen him star in Knives Out and The Gray Man, voice the titular character in Pixar’s Lightyear, and he’ll soon appear in the crime drama Pain Hustlers and Christmas movie Red One.
