Steve Rodgers aka Captain America is the first character that comes to mind when someone mentions Chris Evans, but it’s not the only superhero role on his resume. The 41-year-old actor revealed he would gladly return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe one day – but not as Cap!

Before becoming a household name after being cast as Steve Rodgers in Captain America: The First Avenger, Evans had a chance to play another Marvel superhero. He took on the role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies, but this franchise failed to become a huge hit with the critics and the audience.

Evans recently told MTV News that he would love to play Human Torch again and truly do this character justice, but also revealed that no one ever approached him with this idea.

“That would actually be an easier sell to me than coming back as Cap… Cap is so precious to me. And you know, I almost don’t wanna disrupt what a beautiful experience that was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn’t really get his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing,” he explained.

Evans is currently busy promoting Pixar’s Toy Story spin-off Lightyear, and we’ll soon get to see him in the Russo brothers’ Netflix movie The Gray Man alongside Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas.
