Chris Hemsworth gave us one of Netflix’s most iconic action movies with Extraction, and he’s finally back for more! The first teaser trailer for Extraction 2 is here and it sees fearless mercenary Tyler Rake preparing for another black ops mission.
Like the original 2020 film, Extraction 2 draws inspiration from the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks. In the first teaser trailer, the black ops mercenary Tyler Rake is alive and well after being presumed dead. He’s getting ready for another deadly mission—rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from prison.
Hemsworth is no stranger to action-packed movies after spending over a decade playing Thor in the MCU, but he described the stunts in Extraction 2 as the wildest he’s ever done.
“Not to take anything away from the special-effects-filled sort of Marvel film, but you have a lot of help in post-production there… In this film, the action is grounded in reality, and so much of it is on camera. So, it’s a different energy, and the preparation is a lot more extensive,” the actor explained.
In addition to Hemsworth, Extraction 2 will also star Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, Daniel Bernhardt, and Tinatin Dalakishvili. The film will start streaming on Netflix on June 16.
